Better than expected - Excellent quality

I do not usually take the time to write reviews, but this one truly deserves one.

I was looking for a good quality earphone with noise isolation and a microphone that I could use with my desktop, laptop and Blackberry. I had a hard time finding a device with all the features I was looking for, but this one accomplished 98% of the task, providing an outstanding sound quality and noise isolation at the same time. The only shortfall was the need to buy a Y adapter (one 3.5m female and two 3.5m male) to use in my desktop and laptop for internet meetings and chats.

The design is very good, the extra silicon tips provide the right level of comfort for the ear, the hard case is small and durable, and the microphone is excellent for meetings, chats, and phone calls. The multifunction button allows you to pause the music or video on your phone and answer a phone call. After another press of the button, it resumes your previous activity.

I use it all day at the office and feel very comfortable. Quality of sound for music, video and voice is excellent.
Sounds great, comfortable, what more could you want

Reviewing headphones is a tough thing to do. These sound great to my ears, the microphone and audio controls work well, they are comfortable for wearing casually or while exercising, the cord is a good length, etc. What else is there really? The "noise isolating" feature works really well, and everything else will sound a bit muffled while you're listening to these phones. I'm not the biggest fan of in-ear headphones, but these are more comfortable than most and didn't annoy me as much as the standard iPod earbuds do. I've used them while running, working up a heavy sweat, so they seem durable enough to get through most typical uses.
Great earphones

Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220vi Noise Isolating Earphones w/ Microphone:
Excellent Earphones. Very comfortable to wear even when going to sleep. Smaller then other UE earphones. I've compared these to higher priced UE and other earphones and these hold their own. Nice to use with an Iphone as you can pause the sound while talking on the phone then go right back to where you left off with the little button on the cord. Sounds is detailed and pleasant without much boost in any area. Very satisfied customer and my experience with UE (now Logitec) service with other products has been very good. Can't really think of anything negative to say about them. You can pay a lot more for other phones but I'm pretty sure you may not be much happier.
LIMITED MARKET RESEARCH

Ultimate Ears are suppliers of earphones to the musical gentry. They owe their market leadership to their reputation for quality, so it was quality I was expecting here.

It was quality that I found, I and a small number of others whom I involved in testing this set. We are none of us experts and we did not carry out anything by way of comparative trials with rival equipment. However what we found was excellent sound-quality and phones that are comfortable to wear. This opinion seems to be in conformity with most other reports that I have seen. Real experts may be a bit more discriminating, but I can't imagine that any ordinary users among the general public are going to be dissatisfied. Provided you think the price reasonable I doubt you will find anything to complain about.

The promotional announcements specify most types of players and receivers (MP3 players etc) for which these headphones are suitable. They have been suggested as suitable for use in the gym, but in case nobody else has mentioned television receptors they are compatible with some of those too, including the TV channels available on the cross-trainers, cycling machines and running machines in my own local gym. MP3 players are so last week.
Comfortable and Effective

I tried these Earphones both with music and listening to a spoken word podcast, but did not try them during a phone call or an application that uses the microphone.

The buds are very comfortable, and stay securely in the ear without discomfort. Three different sized buds are included in the package, as well as a pillbox storage container... nice touches. One of the most surprising aspects was that when the buds are not in the ear, and are just out in the open, almost no sound is produced. So no annoying neighbors or others by blasting loud music around them. I did not push the volume past a comfortable range, but the buds were loud and clear even during hushed spoken recorded moments.

I personally can't imagine paying so much for a pair of earphones, but you certainly get your dollars worth with this pair.
